Judge Hogshire has asked us to pass along the following to all members of the Bar regarding fee waivers.
Karl R. Hade, Executive Secretary, Supreme Court of Virginia, has advised all Judges that due to a recently proposed budget amendment by the Senate Finance Committee, his office does not anticipate that they will be in a position to process or pay waivers after mid-March 2010. This amendment would reduce monies available for waivers in the current fiscal year from $4.2 million to $3.6 million. Once the General Assembly has finalized the budget, Mr. Hade will provide an updated status on these monies to the Judges.
